Jordan’s Senior Session at Stone Arch Bridge, Minneapolis

Minnesota-Senior-Photographer.jpg

Jordan’s senior session was literally such an adventure. From struggling through the Minneapolis traffic to avoiding the 100 other photographers at the bridge, and just trying to not die in the 90-degree heat and humidity Minnesota so kindly blessed us with that day. To start Jordan’s session we decided just to ride together to Stone Arch Bridge, so with a 45-minute drive ahead of us we jammed out to Green Day Radio on Spotify and just talked about the most random things. I learned so much about Jordan, like that she wants to be a forensic photographer… which is really cool but also terrifying to someone like me who doesn’t really like things like that. Jordan used to be my old neighbor growing up, so this was another one of those sessions where I was just baffled that I am actually photographing their senior pictures, still seems like just yesterday we were still “big Jordan” and “little Jordan”. It is just so totally mind-blowing that all of the kids I watched grow up are graduating this year?! Literally so insane.

Back to Jordan’s session though, we had such a gorgeous evening- despite the heat- there was such gorgeous lighting and it was just so perfect for a senior session! Stone Arch Bridge and St. Anthony Main is such an amazing location for senior sessions. The architecture and colors this area has to offer are just like so good and such a dream. I could shoot there for every senior session honestly. If you don’t mind being around a ton of other people getting their senior pictures taken, this place is a solid 10/10. From having so many beautiful stone walls, dreamy green fields, and having the sunset behind the city skyline. Stone Arch Bridge really is a photographer’s dream. Working with Jordan was also a photographer’s dream, she was literally such a natural in front of the camera. Taking her images was so easy and I took wayyyyyy too many because I didn’t realize how many I was taking. I also seriously admired, how completely herself she was during this session, the one thing I always, always want my seniors to remember, is that their session is about them. Your senior pictures should highlight the person you are in this season of life. From your outfits, the way you do your hair, and the locations you pick. They should be completely what you want them to be and how you want them to look. These pictures are about you, to highlight you.

Your senior year is a special time, you are growing up, deciding what your next step is in life. Let your pictures be a time just to enjoy who you are now and to celebrate the now, in a time where everyone wants you to think about where you will be in the next coming years.

Alrighty, the rant is over here are Jordan’s images that I am so excited to be sharing!
