Paige’s Senior Session at Lilydale Regional Park

Seriously everybody needs to stop growing so big! Lately, I have been feeling super weird lately about everyone around me growing up! I seriously cannot believe I am taking my younger sister’s senior pictures already, like where has the time gone?! It seems like just yesterday she and I would be fighting over our barbies and who’s doll would get the biggest room in the dollhouse! It is so crazy seeing her so big now!

Paige often times comes to other people’s senior sessions with me just to assist and hold my reflector, so a few weeks back she had been at Libby’s Senior Session and she fell in love with the location Libby has chosen for her pictures. So being the best big sister I am I decided that we could make the special one-hour trip back out to Lilydale Regional Park in St. Paul, Minnesota so that she could also have her pictures taken here. Lilydale Regional Park has a lot of stunning spots to take portraits in, I love the bridge that overlooks the river and has a view of the St. Paul skyline, I also love the tall grass field and we cannot forget the edgy worn down structure that’s hidden down a trail! Lilydale has so many hidden nooks with gorgeous lighting that create the dreamiest pictures!

During Paige’s session, we had the dreamiest golden hour lighting that I wish every senior session could get blessed with! One of the benefits of shooting during golden hour (1-2 hours before sunset) is you get not only that gorgeous golden glow and sun flares that everyone loves, but you get super “soft” lighting. Soft lighting basically means that the shadows on your face are not as dark as they would be during a harsh sun in the middle of the day. Having soft light and not-so-dark shadows is way more flattering on the face and makes your senior portraits that much more magical!

Paige’s images turned out way more beautiful than I could have ever hoped for and it still is so crazy for me that my younger is graduating next spring! I am so excited to see where life is going to take her!
