Grant’s Senior Session, Watertown Minnesota
Grant’s senior session was such an absolute blast. I headed out to their family farm and we just had a quick and easy session! We wandered around their property, found some great walls to stop for some pictures at, as well as some sunny fields, and overall everything was so perfect for this session. I actually grew up hanging out with Grant’s older sister Emma, so if you have followed my work for a while you have probably seen her because she so models for me the most when I want to try new ideas! So it has also been fun watching Grant grow up it’s crazy he is a senior already- one of the first things I said to him was “dang dude, you got taller!” I was so blown away, last time I had seen him I was still taller. It is always such a strange feeling seeing the kids you grew up around getting so big and grown-up. And I’m only 20! Like it probably only gets crazier! During this session, I even got to try something new and got to take some images involving Grant and the tractor as well as his truck! So as per usual when I have new opportunities, these images have become some of my favorites! The lighting was a bit of a challenge but I think they turned out great! Adding things that are special to you like a tractor or truck or whatever it is you like is always so cool to me! I love getting to learn and grow by adding new props or things into my sessions, their offer a unique challenge, and I really enjoy it!
There is always something so special to me about shooting at my client’s personal locations- like the family farm located just outside of Watertown, Minnesota in Grant’s case. It just makes me feel like the images are more personal and special. Like how cool is it to look back on your senior picture and remember that you took those just outside the window! I don’t know maybe I am weird about that but I think that it is so cool! Part of me even wishes that I had a cool property to take pictures at and just redo my senior pictures. Oh well I guess, I can just get excited for my clients that choose to have their images done at their houses or special places!
So yeah, I am super excited to share Grant’s gallery on the blog!
