Pepin Wisconsin Wedding
May 28, 2022
Wow, I cannot believe I am writing my first wedding blog. Becoming a wedding photographer has been an absolute dream of mine for so many years. I feel incredibly blessed to be able to have this dream come true. Kaitlyn and Grant, if your reading this, thank you. Thank you for trusting me to capture your day and thank you for supporting my dream and making it come true.
Kaitlyn and Grant were my first ever wedding clients. And their day could not have been more perfect. May weddings you never know what the weather will do. However on May 28th 2022, Kaitlyn and Grant has the most gorgeous day. I had been checking the weather religiously throughout the week because I had seen a chance of rain. But mother nature came through and let the sunshine free for Kaitlyn and Grant. Driving through the rolling hills of Kellogg Minnesota was so dreamy and I just knew that this day was going to be good.
Kaitlyn and her girls got ready at Grant’s mom’s house and everyone was so calm yet excited. Truly one of the best girl groups I have worked with! Everyone was so helpful and positive. The vibe while they were getting ready was perfect and confirmed this was going to be a good day.
Grant and the guys got ready and hung out at the reception venue the Hidden Meadow and Barn in Pepin Wisconsin. Which might be my favorite wedding venue to date? It was absolutely dreamy and gorgeous and perfect.
I don’t get to photograph a ton of church weddings, however Kaitlyn and Grant decided to get married at Immaculate Conception Church in Kellogg, Minnesota and it was so stunning. The ceremony was beautiful and personal. I loved every second and I loved every detail in this little church. We just had one little dilemma the entire day, and that was a 30 minute train, stopping Grant and the groomsman from arriving on time to the ceremony. And with no cell reception in the hills we had no idea what was happening until the bus showed up right as mass was supposed to start! Everything worked out though and now its a fun little memory from their day. Now every time they get stopped by a train they can be reminded of the time Grant was almost late for his own wedding!
After a short scenic drive back to the Hidden Meadow and Barn the dinner and dance began, and wow what a fun group. From the always hilarious couple shoe game and Greek food and a bridal party dance off, this group was so much fun and knew how to party!
On my drive home that night I just could not stop smiling because everything about this day was perfect. There were lots of little moments that made me smile and feel incredibly grateful that being a photographer is my job. Kaitlyn and Grant’s wedding day only confirmed how much I love what I do and the moments I get to capture and save. It’s truly a blessing and I am so grateful.
