My Top 5 Amazon Favorites for my Photography Business

As much as I hate to admit it, I spend a lot of time (and money) on amazon for my business. From scooping out the prime day deals on SD cards to creating lists of all the lenses I want to buy. My amazon wish list is comically long. However, as my business continues to grow I have narrowed down some of my favorites and cannot live without items from amazon that help me elevate my business.

I want to keep this list to the extra items that I own for my business, so this list is for the items other than camera gear that help me keep my business and my experience going smoothly!

Number 5 on my list is the SSD drives (or solid-state drives) that I use. These things are small but mighty. Editing images on these versus my old hard drives is a night and day difference. They are so fast and I do not think I could ever go back to editing on a hard drive. Plus they are so small and compact traveling with them is so nice and easy.

Number 4 is this background stand set. I love this thing and use it all the time. It’s lightweight and comes with a travel case that lets me bring it with me on the go easily. It is super easy to set up and take down. I do not have a physical location for my business so I love this background stand for in-home newborn sessions, brand/product photography, or simply taking self-portraits at home.

Number 3 is my reflectors. Yes, these are a little weird, and not a lot of photographers use them. But personally, I love them for multiple reasons. I love them for how easy they are to fold down and they fit right under my driver’s seat in my car so I always have them with me and they are not in the way. During sessions I love using them to add a bit of extra light into my subject’s eye, or if it’s a golden hour I use the gold side to bring more of a warm glow to a portrait. I also use them to block the overly powerful sun, or I will have seniors sit on them so they don’t get their outfits dirty on the ground. I also use them for product photography and bouncing window lights on the product. They are inexpensive little tools that I love having with me. (they are amazing fans for hot summer days)

Number 2 is my cross-body camera strap. I love this thing. For the longest time, I just refused to wear a camera strap because the weight of my camera and lens hurt my neck. But when I found this strap it was perfect. It is not overly bulky and has an awesome rubber grip on the shoulder so it doesn’t slip when I move around. It also allows me to go hands-free without having to find a safe place for my camera. I absolutely love this thing on wedding days and it helps me always be ready for a moment.

Anndddd finally Number 1! This one might be a little funny to you, but I LOVE my portable changing tent. Not only is it a fun party trick to bring out for sessions but it really does make outfit changes way easier for senior sessions or engagement sessions. I do a lot of sessions outdoors in parks. And they do not always have a bathroom or changing room available. So instead of changing in your car I invested in this changing tent and it has been a game changer for sessions. I have even used it to hide brides on their wedding day. It really is an awesome tool to have with you for sessions.

Some honorable mentions are my SD card cases and my SD cards. I love to watch for deals on these SanDisk Extreme Pro SD cards, they are so fast and I love shooting on them.
