Mackenzie’s Senior Session, Victoria Minnesota

I have been waiting all summer for someone to choose this location. When Mackenzie originally reached out she asked for tall grass fields and a lake. So let me let you all in on a little secret, tall grass fields and lakes are my JAM like I love them so much, and as much as I love working in cities, nothing tops running around in a field, at golden hour and creating such dreamy imagery. So when Mackenzie chose this location I literally did a happy dance. I drive by Carver Park Reserve in Victoria, Minnesota all the time, and I am always just so blown away by how gorgeous it is there! They have wildflowers, and grass fields, historic sights, and a lake and it all faces the sunset and you can get all the golden glow your heart desires. It’s literally perfect in every way. Carver Park Reserve has been such a dream location for me this past summer and I am so glad that I finally got the chance to shoot there.

I also grew up knowing Mackenzie, she was friends with my younger sister Paige and was always in sports with Paige. So it’s just again so crazy to see her all grown up when I have known her since she was small! This senior season has just been so odd for me since I know a lot of these kids graduating, and it makes me feel really old. But I remember playing softball with Mackenzie myself in late high school and even then seems so long ago. Mackenzie still stays as busy and involved as she did back then! This girl is currently in Soccer, Trap Shooting and she manages the Watertown-Mayer High School Football Team. Like how she found the time to get her senior pictures in during the fall blows my mind away! It was definitely a challenge finding a time in both of our schedules to even have her session to be completely honest. But in the end, all the stress and scramble were totally worth it and Mackenzie scored such a gorgeous night after we had to reschedule her original session due to rain and a soccer game reschedule. Her images are so dreamy and I am literally in love with them and wish that they were my own senior pictures! I love the personal touches she added to her sessions like her cowboy boots, trapshooting setup, and her soccer jersey! I love when seniors bring special props or wear certain items that just help capture their personality and who they are in this season of life!
