Jessica’s Senior Session In Annandale, Minnesota

Jessica’s senior session was so amazing. I drove home from her session so excited to edit and view all the images. When Jessica told me that she wanted to have her session at her house, I was so incredibly excited. I think personal locations are such a joy to have because they can make your images that much more personal. Jessica had all the beautiful trails covered in trees behind her pasture and her house, was literally my dream location. Don’t get me wrong I love wandering downtowns finding walls but locations that are in nature are my absolute favorite. Jessica’s session had the most stunning golden hour I have probably seen all season, these images turned out to be an absolute dream. Also, if you own a horse, or any animal really, please bring it to your session, the images I captured of Jessica and her horse are some of the favorites I have ever taken. Having the things (or animals) that mean a lot to you are so important to add to your senior pictures. It helps me tell the story of you. To me it’s not about having the perfect headshot for your yearbook, senior sessions are not just another photoshoot. These pictures are to highlight who you are and what you love! So bring the props, bring the animals, pick the locations, and make your senior pictures personal and unique!

I had so much fun getting to know Jessica during her session. She and her horse have such a fun connection, it was super amazing getting to photograph that bond and get some gorgeous pictures (and I think I stepped in horse pee that her horse very kindly let loose in the middle of pictures) but it’s okay because the images were totally worth it! Jessica was such a natural in front of the camera. One of the first things she told me was that she wasn’t photogenic now I know a lot of people say that but it’s always the most photogenic people who think that they aren’t photogenic and Jessica definitely proved that. She literally rocked her session, when I was sorting through all of the 2000 images I took I was just so blown away by how many amazing and beautiful portraits I took of Jessica. It was so hard to narrow it down for her final gallery and even harder to narrow it down for this blog post. Jessica just literally had picked the perfect location, outfits that fit her and suited her so well, and I just am completely upset. Plus she also was so amazing at the “giggle over the shoulder” prompt like everything about her session was just too good. (Hence why I probably stepped in horse pee because nothing can be that perfect right?)

I just love Jessica’s images and her personal touches to her session and I am so excited to share her images on the blog!
