Kylie and Payton

Osakis Minnesota Wedding

Wrapping up the June weddings today, and spending the day with Kylie and Payton was the best way to conclude my first full month of weddings! Kylie and Payton had such a gorgeous June day, where is wasn’t to hot and humid. We started the day at Kylie’s house in Osakis for some detail and getting ready photos. I was really impressed because I am pretty sure the bridesmaids did all of their own hair and makeup. I am not someone who is good at hair or makeup so whenever I see at a wedding everyone doing their own I just get blown away. After some fun photos of the girls in their getting ready robes we did some quick photos of the bridesmaids and of the bride Kylie and then we headed over to the wedding venue.

They got married at Diamond Point Steakhouse in Sauk Centre. Diamond Points outdoor wedding ceremony spot was absolutely gorgeous. The ceremony had a gorgeous view of the lake and it was perfect. As a photographer I loved how there was space to walk around the guests during the ceremony so that I would not disrupt them and they had a tiered setup so it was sort of like a stadium so every guest could see. Kylie decided on a blue and sunflower theme for her wedding and she had the cutest sunflower balls, which I wish I had for my wedding haha. My own wedding was also blue with sunflowers so it was fun for me seeing how we each did things differently for our colors and theme.

After the ceremony and dinner we headed into first dances. And for some reason first dances always get me so teary eyed. At first it was father-daughter dances because I am a Daddy’s girl and they always remind me of my dad. But now after the passing of my Mother In Law and remembering my husband and her’s dance. Now event he mother-son dances get me bawling. But during Kylie and Payton’s first dance as husband and wife, their daughter Emma ran up to them so excited to dance with mommy and daddy and boy did that get the waterworks going. So couples or family members or whoever reads this if you ever see me crying during a wedding… no you didn’t.

After some stunning sunset photos my second shooter and I headed out and the whole drive home back to Fergus Falls I just was so happy to A. be done shooting weddings for a few weekends, as I have never had 3 back to back weekends before and B. feeling so grateful to get to photograph memories for a job and that I even have the opportunity to be booked back to back weekends.

Now for the part we all wait for in these things, Kylie and Payton’s gorgeous images!
