Cap and Gown Sessions

When I was graduating high school, my senior photographer offered cap and gown minis right before our graduation ceremony. And now even 4 years later, I LOVE look back on those images and seeing how excited I was to be graduating. They are also some of my favorite images I have with my family as well. So one thing I knew I eventually wanted to offer in my business was cap and gown sessions. And last year I officially launched them! But with so many different seniors from different schools that I work with, I knew that offering them before a graduation ceremony at the school was not going to work for me. So last year during the month of May I offered Cap and Gown Mini sessions that could be booked whenever you needed! This year I am offering that again but extending the time to June! So for this year class of 2023 can book a cap and gown session in May or June to help you celebrate your graduation (either high school OR college)!

Something new I am adding this year for high school graduating seniors, is that you can add-on a cap and gown mini session to your senior package for a discounted rate. You can view my senior session guide here

Now let’s talk about how these sessions actually work. These sessions are mini sessions, so they are quick and easy. Only 30 minutes of shooting, they are quick paced and are a really fun way to celebrate your graduation. These sessions can be at a location of your choice, however most people have these images taken on their school campus.

During these sessions I do a mix of standard and creative posing. Standard being a simple portrait of you in your cap and gown and maybe holding your diploma if you have it at the time. But I also love getting creative and trying new things during these sessions and also love incorporating ideas of your own into them. During your cap and gown session, I also like to include some shots of your family (and your best friends) so its always fun to have them there with you, cheering you on behind the camera.

Cap and gown sessions are a great way to save your graduation memories and to celebrate! I absolutely love photographing cap and gown mini and hope to see you in front of my camera for one soon!
