Brooke’s Senior Session

Battle Lake, Minnesota

Wrapping up my last senior session for the Class of 2024 with Brookes golden senior session at Glendalough State Park in Battle Lake Minnesota. She had a gorgeous evening for her senior session and I am so I’m so in love with her images. It was so much fun getting to know Brooke, she had traveled from Wahpeton North Dakota for this session and I was blown away at how small the world really is. I say that because when talking to Brooke and her mom, I learned that they actually know my husbands aunt and they had a connection through daycare somehow, I don’t remember exactly but it was crazy to me how everyone is somehow connected in one way or another. Brooke also had a family friend with and she also knew my husbands aunt from working for the different counties over the years in social work! This year I have been able to connect with so many more people and connect the dots on how they know other people. Growing up in a small town you would think I would have experienced this more often, however I really must have been off in my own world because it wasn’t until this year I have really noticed how connected people really are.

Anyways back to Brooke and her stunning senior session. She had such a perfect night and the lighting was amazing. This fall season I realized how much I love shooting in blue hour, so I was so glad that we got to have some of that lighting during Brooke’s session. Brooke was so much fun getting to know. She loves horses and we are hoping to have a second session this spring with her horses! Brooke is also basically a mermaid. She had this vision of some lake photos during her senior session. Now mind you, Brooke had her senior session in October! And it was cold! But she jumped right into the water and made her vision come to life. It was so much fun getting to step outside my comfort zone. I got to play around with motion blur and slowing down my shutter speed. I love how Brooke’s lake images turned out, it was a great end to my senior season this year!
